Dubai-based fast food chain targets 1,000 outlets by 2020

Dubai-based fast food chain ChicKing, which started business with just one outlet 13 years ago, aims to have 1,000 outlets spread across 30 countries by 2020.

The UAE-based NAS International Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysia’s Dual Super Food to establish outlets in Malaysia and other parts of South East Asia.

ChicKing was established as Al Bayan Foods, part of the Dubai-based Al Bayan Group of Companies, and is a registered trademark of Banquet Foods International, RAK-FZE, UAE, and currently has 100 outlets in 7 countries.

The signing ceremony was in the presence Dato Hasan Bin Malek, Minister for the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia.

Outlining the tie-up, MK Mansoor, Managing Director of ChicKing, said that with Dual Super Foods Malaysia and Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) they are entering a phase that will make a major difference in the industry.

“This partnership had long been in the making and now we are ready to take off. This relationship will provide us with the platform to take ChicKing to the next level and begin our aggressive global franchise campaign. Our goal is to take ChicKing to over 20 countries in 5 continents and open more than 1,000 outlets by the year 2020.”

Fariq Halim, CEO, NAS International, said that the appointment of the Malaysian Master Franchisee could not come at a more opportune time in ChicKing’s development.

“We believe that Dual Super Foods, together with the support of PNS and the Ministry, will be able to exceed business expectations and develop ChicKing into a leading quick service restaurant in Malaysia and throughout South East Asia. With this strategic partnership, we also take a monumental step forward in ChicKing’s global expansion plan and goal to become the leading and largest Global Halal quick service restaurant in the world by the year 2020, entering five continents,” he added.
