Nestle to open $120mn Dubai factory by end-2015

 Consumer foods giant Nestlé is planning to open a new US $120 million factory in Dubai World Central by the end of this year.

The new facility, which will create approximately 400 new jobs by 2017, will produce coffee and culinary products, the company said in a statement.

"This is helping Nestlé to delight Middle Eastern consumers with their preferred recipes, delivered to them fresher and faster," the statement said.

The company said recruitment has already started, with the first group of employees set to start in July.

"The recruitment team travelled to several countries, predominantly in Asia to ensure diversity in nationalities and skillsets. That in addition to relocating some existing Nestlé employees to lead the project," the statement said.

Nestlé Dubai already has a manufacturing in TechnoPark producing milk powder, chocolate and culinary.

Nestlé Middle East, which owns and operates 18 factories and provides direct employment to more than 11,000 people, has invested $400 million across the region in the last five years.
