PepsiCo Partners with the Dubai Municipality and GCC Standardization Organization

The Dubai International Food Safety Conference, which took place between 17 - 19 November 2013 at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Centre, is organized by the Food Control Department of Dubai Municipality and is supported by the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP). Various workshops, technical sessions, and poster presentations targeted at the food industry, regulatory authorities and students were held during the conference and featured more than 200 presenters from all across the globe.

 
As exclusive sponsors of the two-day GSO Workshop on Nutrition Labeling & Health Claims for Food Products, running from 19 - 20 November, PepsiCo was honored to have the session officially opened by H.E Nabil A. Molla, Secretary General, GCC Standardization Organization. The training session aimed to share information regarding nutritional labeling and health claims for food products, focusing on the developments that are happening worldwide and possible implications for their local application.
 
H.E. Nabil A. Molla, Secretary General of the GCC Standardization Organization concluded, "It is vital that the public and private sector continue to work together to raise the profile of important issues such as health and nutrition amongst consumers in the UAE, and I would like to thank PepsiCo for their support in moderating this important workshop at the Dubai International Food Safety Conference earlier this week."

PepsiCo was also given the opportunity to participate in the inaugural symposium, titled Nutrition and Health, which took place on 19 November, as part of the Dubai International Food Safety Conference & Exhibition. The symposium addressed the role diet, exercise and lifestyle choices play in creating positive health outcomes as well as how these findings can be best applied in the UAE.
